Natural History Field Study Courses @ Folsom Lake College

Natural History Field Studies courses are offered at specific times and specific places to correspond with natural events like bird and mammal migrations, minus tides and plant cycles, to name a few. For instance, we travel to Monterey during the first two weeks in January to view Gray Whales to correspond with peak migration time for that particular species. We travel to Mono Lake Basin in October to not only enjoy the spectacular geology but to experience the migration of tens of thousands of eared grebes that depend on the food resources in Mono Lake. Top off the trip with fall plant colors in spectacular glaciated canyons - most likely, students will have encountered a lifetime nature experience.
The following is a list of Natural History Field Studies Courses designed and implemented over the years. Click on Current Course Offerings to view the current semester courses.
